To keep the 2 year old engaged:
1. Stickers:

             Babies like to remove stickers and to stick on to paper or other materials.There are many categories of stickers.You can get whatever sticker the baby is interested in and let the baby to remove the sticker and stick on to another material.And you can teach the baby the animal names( supposing if it is a set of animal stickers)when it picks a sticker.So the baby will learn animal names parallely and ou can engage tha baby.It is a kind of learning activity.
            My baby used to make fuss whenever we go out .At last i found this method which was very useful when we went to a shop for shop.So moms can use this method and engage the kid.
Even bigger kids like this very much.
2. Pom poms:
              Different colored poms poms can be used to teach colors for kids.if there is an egg carton it can be reused for holding pom poms. By this method we can categorize pom poms by placing them in the egg carton and based on colors the Pom and poms can be placed in a particular order.
3. Piggy banks:
               Babies likes inserting coins in to the piggy banks. My baby liked it very much. So having a piggy bank and some coins handy may engage a child sometime.But this could be done under adult supervision.
4. Play dough:

                     Babies love playing with play dough.Different colored dough can be used to teach them colors.Some shapes can be taught easily with play dough. this improves their creativity.
5. Beads:
                     Beads are predominantly applied in arts and crafts industry. Take a needle and a yarn . Insert the yarn  in to the needle and tie a knot . Teach the baby to insert the beads in to the yarn through the needle. Children fancy to o do some necklaces and bracelets on their own. This might improve their creativity.
